đ« Flying on Real ID Day: From San Juan to Newark â Against All Odds
May 7th marked a turning point in U.S. air travel: the long-awaited Real ID Day. While the skies were filled with confusion and hesitation, I decided to flyâstraight into one of the most controversial airports right now: Newark (EWR).
Many were being advised to avoid flying to Newark due to recent operational challenges, delays, and passenger complaints. But as always, my mission with Skies & Roads is to document reality from the front rowâno matter how turbulent it gets.
đŹ The Flight Details
- Airline:Â Frontier Airlines
- Aircraft:Â Airbus A321neo
- Tail Number:Â N621FR
- Route: San Juan (SJU) âĄïž Newark (EWR)
The A321neo is one of Frontierâs newest and most efficient aircraft, offering quiet engines and improved fuel performance. Despite being an ultra-low-cost carrier, Frontier’s sleek A321neo offers a surprisingly modern inflight experienceâwith powerful takeoff, smooth cruising, and some of the best window views of the Atlantic.
đ„ What to Expect in the Video
In this upcoming video, I share everythingâfrom the moment I walked into Luis Muñoz MarĂn Airport with my Real ID, to landing in the chaos and concrete of Newark.
Youâll see:
- Check-in and boarding at SJU
- Smooth skies and scenic views over the Atlantic
- Honest moments inside the cabin of Frontierâs A321neo
- A nearly packed flight despite the warnings
- Arrival and first impressions at EWR on Real ID Day
đ My Take
Flying on a day full of doubt reminded me why I started this journey. Itâs not just about the destinationsâitâs about the raw, real experiences we go through in the skies. Whether itâs turbulence in the air or uncertainty on the ground, itâs all part of the story.
